David Denham / Founder
Tippet Consulting is the result of a lot of hard-earned lessons and the desire to share them with others. The name “Tippet” comes from fly fishing, where slender monofilament line extends the leader to present the best possible outcome. That’s exactly what David has done throughout his career: extend leaders, ideas, and organizations beyond their limits, helping them make bigger, bolder impacts.
For over 20 years, David has been learning—constantly. The services offered here are skills and techniques he’s leveraged as a sales leader, an agency leader, marketing executive, facilitator, agency head, and trusted C-Suite advisor. Yes, he’s worn more hats than most people keep in their closet and he has the stories to prove it. Grounded, approachable, and unafraid to ask the hard questions, David helps organizations move forward with clarity and confidence.
He’s worked for U.S. Senator John McCain (Phoenix & D.C), Franklin-Covey (Boston), Sapient (Boston, San Francisco, D.C), Faith Popcorn’s BrainReserve (NYC), Colle McVoy, space150, and Latitude (Minneapolis). For two years, he led Global Marketing for Ergotron where he transformed the brand and helped achieve net-new growth for the company.
He’s had the great fortune of working as a consultant for many great companies and brands including adidas, Caribou Coffee, Cannondale, Dessert Holdings, FootJoy, Indian Motorcycle, Marmot, NutriSource, Tennant Company, Polaris, and Vista Outdoor (now Revelyst).
David splits his time between Tippet Consulting and Brass & Bones, his other creative venture, always finding new ways to help leaders and brands sharpen their edge.
If not engaged with the necessities of the business, you’ll either find him on the baseball field or boots’ wet in the streams and rivers of the Driftless region of Minnesota and Wisconsin. And if you’re so inclined to learn how to fly fish, David will save a spot for you in the truck.
